Good evening! It sure is a cold one!
In science this week we are reviewing qualitative and quantitative observations. Qualitative observations are descriptions of qualities of something using our senses. Quantitative observations are those observations involving measurements of some type. Ask you child to describe the difference. We will be having a short quiz on this on Friday. We are also working on measurement this week, learning about some different types of tools that scientists use. We will then move on to studying matter. I plan to have a test on measurement and matter before we leave on winter break.
In social studies we are continuing our study of explorers. We have learning A LOT about A LOT of explorers in Chapter 3. We will be studying New Spain (Lesson 5) this week, followed by completing our study guide. Our test will be next week. Watch your child’s agenda to know the exact date. Look for a test note to come home later this week.
It’s that time of year that the flu bug wants to attack. Please encourage your child to eat healthy, get plenty of rest, and WASH THOSE HANDS! No one wants to be sick, so we will be sanitizing the desktops more frequently. If you could help by sending in some extra Clorox/Lysol wipes, that would be great! We will be going through those pretty quickly over the next few months.
Have a great week! Only 19 shopping days left!
